Career Day

On Friday I participated in Career Day at school. Well it wasn’t really at the school but rather Fort Monmouth. I shadowed the area of management. It was pretty cool. I met the IT staff and got to see a demo of some software. Pretty neat stuff. I forgot what it’s called though, even the acronym. That another thing I learned, everything in the army has a acronym. I also got to see the NOC (I think that’s what is was called). Pretty sweet stuff, even with unclassified screens Naturally I had asked a few questions about how an IT job in the army is like. Pretty long hours and 24/7 phone calls. At 11:30 it was time for lunch, which was a buffet of salad, chicken, pasta, ravioli and something else that was the best but I have no clue what it was… A few people spoke as well while lunch was going on. After lunch, it was the end of the day and while waiting for the bus to arrive I picked up some loot from the Earth Day program that was going on. Scored two bags and a bunch of sample stuff. Soon after the bus arrived back to the school where we watched Young Frankenstine in the PAC until the end of the school day.

It was pretty fun and I’d defiantly do it again. Those who dropped out missed a hell of a day.

A look back…

I’ve made some small site changes today. First off, I added a new category, jokes - well you can guess what it’s used for I’ve also marked all the posts from 2007 as Legacy now. It was pretty interesting reading over them and noticing home bad some were… But there were also ones that brought back memories. In 35 days, it’ll be one year since I first started blogging, which was back on Google’s Blogger. I switched to WordPress back in November and I have to say I like it a lot better. It’s nice a clean and customizable.

In totally unrelated news, I applied for a summer internship in my school’s IT department.

The end of Spring Break…

Darn. Why must the ends of breaks from school come so quickly? Well I had a pretty good break at least. Break for me started Friday the 21st. Didn’t do anything then really. Just did some stuff online. 22nd I was supposed to officiate a Brawl Tournament over WiFi but it got postponed because only 3 people entered 23rd was Easter; my dad left to visit his dad in California and mom, my brother and I had a typical Easter - have the egg hunt in which he takes forever to find the eggs and I have to record it… 24th I hung out with a friend in the afternoon. 25th I can’t remember doing anything exciting.

Wow. Don’t judge an assembly by what it’s about…

Well we had an assembly in school today for Black History Month. Perriods were shortened, my class went to the PAC to watch it and it took up all of last perriod, which for me is Spanish. So because of what it was for most of us expected it to be long and boring. It was long but sure as hell not boring. In three words: best assembly yet. It really was fun and a pleasure to watch. In fact, I hope someone wipped out their cameria phone and recorded it. I’d love to save it onto my Mac and iPod.

What? A post?

Yeah I felt like posting tonight. First off, I absolutely love my iPod. The firmware upgrade was totally worth it (’cause most of the apps on there I need.) Tomorrow should be an easy school day. Here’s my schedule for tomorrow:

Bio Honors- Goto the computer lab
History- be talked to by guidance about scheduling for next year.
Intro to Network- chill and do some work like normal
